Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission must not have been previously published nor has it been submitted for consideration by any other journal.
  • All the illustrations, figures, and tables must be placed in the appropriate place near the first mention, instead of at the end of the manuscript. Check the TESEA Journal template to know the appropriate form to create tables. 
  • The submission is accompanied by a cover letter to the editor (free format), where the contribution and relevance of the article are explained. The letter is in PDF format and provided as a separate file. 
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements summarized in the Author Guidelines.
  • Permissions are cleared and in place for any non-original content (i.e. content that has been reproduced from another source, like illustrations, images, diagrams, etc.).
  • The manuscript includes a Conflict of Interest statement and the Contributor Roles have been included according to the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT).
  • The submission complies with the journal Policies of Ethical and Scientific Integrity.

Submission Preparation Checklist 

Before submitting a manuscript to the TESEA Journal System, we encourage the authors to consider each of the following items. The editor may return submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • Manuscripts should be submitted in English, and the presentation should be as succinct as possible. Manuscripts are reviewed and refereed. Those accepted for publication are edited for conformance to the journal's style.
  • The article must not have been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal. 
  • The plagiarism match percentage from a single source must not be greater than 30%.
  • The manuscript file must be generated as a single PDF following the instructions in the journal template available (below) in Microsoft Word or LaTeX. 
  • The text must adhere to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements summarized in the Author Guidelines.
  • TESEA Journal follows a single-blind review procedure. However, the authors are not required to disclose their identities or affiliations in the manuscript.  
  • The figures, tables, and captions should be placed within the document near the first mention of each figure in the text. Check the TESEA Journal template to know the appropriate form to create tables. 
  • The submission must be accompanied by a cover letter to the editor (free-format), where the contribution and relevance of the article are explained and where the authors express their commitment to not submitting the article simultaneously to other journals or conferences. The letter must be in PDF format and provided in a separate file. 
  • The authors are encouraged to provide three specialists in the contribution field with a Ph.D. who can serve as reviewers. (Name, email, affiliation, country).

The revised version of the manuscript must be submitted with the following items: 

  • A letter to the editor summarizing the changes made in the manuscript and describing how the paper was improved. This letter can be made in a free format and attached in a PDF format. 
  • A punctual response to the reviewers describing the manuscript changes and how their comments were considered in the revised version. (freestyle, PDF format). 
  • Optionally: a revised version of the manuscript with the changes highlighted (PDF format). 
  • The length of the manuscript is not limited.  
  • Please name the main document MAIN_Manuscript.PDF for easy identification inside the TESEA Journal System. 

 

Article template  

To make your initial submission process as easy as possible and to make it easier for the editors and referees to review your manuscript, we require only a single PDF document containing the text and figures. Click here to download the sample template with formatting instructions in PDF.

A LaTeX template is available to assist you with formatting. Click here to open the Latex Template in the Overleaf authoring tool. LaTeX manuscripts should be uploaded as a compiled PDF for review and as a .zip file, including the manuscript, locally compiled PDF, bibliography, and all referenced style files and figures.

CRediT (Contribution Roles Taxonomy)

Transactions on Energy Systems and Engineering Applications will enable authors to provide information on submission, allowing for detailed information about individual contributions to the work. If not provided on submission, this information can be provided at subsequent revision stages. The submitting author is responsible for ensuring that the contributions of all authors are correct. It is expected that all authors will have reviewed, discussed, and agreed to their individual contributions as shared by the submitting author. The authors’ contribution statement will be published with the final article and should accurately reflect contributions to the work.

Articles

A full-length manuscript presenting original work intended as a regular contribution to the journal.

Reviews

An article reviewing a particular topic or field. Review papers are typically invited papers written by a highly regarded expert in the field. Review articles summarize progress made in a particular research or development area during a specified period and summarize the current state of the art.

Special Section: Selected Papers from the 2023 IEEE Colombian Caribbean Conference

This special section aims to feature selected papers originally presented at the 2023 IEEE Colombian Caribbean Conference (C3). All contributions are subject to rigorous peer review to ensure originality and high quality. Authors are required to:

  1. Submit work that significantly extends their original conference paper.
  2. Obtain necessary copyright permissions for figures and illustrations used.
  3. Adhere to the journal's ethical guidelines, as outlined here.

Note: This section is not open for general submissions. Authors who did not receive an invitation to contribute to this special section should submit their work as a regular article.

Special Section: Selected papers from ICARGET 2023 Conference

This special section aims to feature selected papers originally presented at the 2023 International Conference on Advances in Renewable and Green Energy Technology (ICARGET 2023). All contributions are subject to rigorous peer review to ensure originality and high quality. Authors are required to:

  1. Submit work that significantly extends their original conference paper.
  2. Obtain necessary copyright permissions for figures and illustrations used.
  3. Adhere to the journal's ethical guidelines, as outlined here.

Note: This section is not open for general submissions. Authors who did not receive an invitation to contribute to this special section should submit their work as a regular article.

Special Section: Digital Transformation and Industry 4.0 Management

This special section aims to feature selected papers focusing on the management of Digital Transformation and Industry 4.0. All contributions are subject to rigorous peer review to ensure originality and high quality. Authors are required to:

  1. Submit work that provides significant insights and advancements in the field of Digital Transformation and Industry 4.0 Management.
  2. Obtain necessary copyright permissions for figures and illustrations used.
  3. Adhere to the journal's ethical guidelines, as outlined here.

Note: This section is open for submissions specifically addressing the themes of Digital Transformation and Industry 4.0 Management. Authors whose work falls outside this scope are encouraged to submit their articles as regular submissions.
