This paper analyzes, through three case studies, the activities of Colombian Caribbean entrepreneurs in the interior of the country during the XIXth century. It discusses the business endeavors of the Amador family, Juan Bautista Mainero and the Fergusson Noguera family. The aim is to highlight the importance of studying interregional phenomena, proving the existence of national spheres for large business ventures in the XIXth century. Thus, it provides elements for a better understanding of the historical process of Colombian economic integration.
