Abstract

This article is a reflection of the memory of Montes de María, a subregion of the Colombian Caribbean. It uses the interests and concerns expressed by leaders of some territorial organizations. In order to gather information, three memory narrative workshops were held in three municipalities of the subregion: Tolú Viejo, San Juan and Ovejas. Based on what was found, and on the debate of the memory as a dispute scenario, I reflect on the cultural particularities of the subregion when talking about narration and I show evidence of the existence of delimited agendas of what the communities want to narrate and for what purposes they want to do it. At the same time, in this article I find the difficulties to construct these narratives of memory in the colombian context.
