Innovation Capabilities of the Health Sector in Barranquilla,Colombia: A Prospective Analysis to 2025

Abstract

In this paper we design a foresight study by 2025 to evaluate the innovation capacity of the health sector in Barranquilla, Colombia. Trying to determine which are the most relevant elements that influence on management of innovation and research, we focus on the actors that interact in the system. For doing this, foresighting took an important role because it first allows visualizing the whole system under study, analyzing the interaction between key internal and external elements, actors and organizations. Later, it allows to visualize the possible future scenarios and to use them to design the most useful strategies to drive the system to a desired or ideal situation.
